Commercial ventilation and exhaust systems

Ventilation is the part of a building nobody thinks about until the kitchen fills with smoke or the plant room runs hot.

We've always done this, it just never had a page

Ventilation has been part of our mechanical work since the start. It sits in the same ceiling space as the air conditioning, runs off the same roof and usually fails for the same reasons.

Most sites end up with one contractor for the air conditioning and another for the exhaust, which means two callouts, two invoices and two people blaming each other when the plant room runs hot. We do both, so one visit covers both.

Kitchens are the hard ones

A commercial kitchen is grease, heat and long hours. The exhaust is only half the system. If the range hood pulls more air out than the make up air puts back, the room goes negative. Doors get heavy, the smoke stops clearing and the appliances stop drawing properly.

That's a balance problem, not a broken fan. It's worth measuring before anyone quotes you a new one.

Included as standard

  • Commercial kitchen range hoods, exhaust fans and ductwork
  • Make up air systems, balanced against the exhaust rather than guessed
  • Mechanical ventilation for the building where the design calls for it
  • Toilet, amenities, car park, switch room and plant room exhaust
  • Workshop and industrial extraction for heat and dust
  • Scheduled servicing: filters, belts, bearings, fan and motor checks
  • Breakdown repairs on fans and exhaust systems, on the same 24/7 line
  • Installed to the consulting engineer's drawings on build projects

Our workmanship guarantee

“We stand behind our workmanship. If there's an issue with the install itself, get in touch and we'll sort it.”

How we work

Questions about ventilation

What do you take on for a ventilation system?

We supply, install, commission, service and repair. On a build we work to the consulting engineer's drawings and specification and hand the system over commissioned. Design and certification stay with the engineer. If that's the part you need, we'll say so up front and point you in the right direction rather than take the job and work it out on site.

Can you service an exhaust system another company installed?

Yes. Servicing, maintenance and repairs are open to any system, whoever installed it. Installation is the only thing we keep to equipment we've supplied.

Our kitchen is smoky and the doors are heavy. Is the exhaust fan gone?

Often not. Those two symptoms together usually mean the room is running negative, which is a make up air problem rather than a failed exhaust fan. We'd rather measure it and tell you that than sell you a fan you didn't need.
